Singapore Travel Insurance Singapore Travel Insurance

Singapore may be small, but there are hundreds of exciting nooks and crannies to discover. We can help you organise your travel insurance in just a few minutes, so you can get back to planning.

Our comprehensive policies can cover medical costs, cancellation and luggage, all at competitive prices. Our One-trip Travel insurance policies can cover singles, families and seniors.

Most Common Questions
Does your insurance cover damage to a rental cars and rental motorbikes?

Our Gold policies cover your rental car excess up to $8,000, but not motorbikes. For a rental car to be covered, you need to make sure that it is insured (confirmed by the rental company), as we do not pay for full damages to a rental car, only your excess.

What does ‘excess’ mean?

Excess is the amount you pay us in the event of a claim being approved. Our excess applies per person, per event, per claim.
You can choose the excess you want ($100, $200, $0), but be aware this will change the price of your initial premium. Our standard excess amount is $100 but you can decide to remove or double this amount through the purchase process.

I am overseas right now – can I buy, change or upgrade a policy?

You need to be in Australia at the time of purchasing your insurance. If you are overseas, we are unable to offer you new or different insurance. You may be eligible to extend the dates of your existing cover, so shoot us an email and find out.

Do you cover flight delays after departure?

Under the InsureandGo Silver and Gold levels of cover, we will reimburse the cost of your necessary additional meals and accommodation expenses, if during a trip, any individual leg of your trip, is delayed for more than 12 hours.

The amount you can claim varies depending on the level of cover that you have purchased with us. Please refer to the policy wording documents for more information.

Do you cover pre-existing medical conditions?

A pre-existing medical condition is any condition for which you have received medical advice, treatment or medication in the last five years. Our policies cover many pre-existing conditions; to see if we cover yours, please complete our medical assessment online or over the phone. Please note, failing to declare a pre-existing condition can void your policy.

I’m taking out the top cover, am I covered for anything that can go wrong on my trip?

Our premiums would be astronomical if we could do that! There are limits and exclusions to all travel insurance policies, so we strongly advise you to read our product disclosure statement (or search [ctrl+F] for keywords to check limits and exclusions) to see if our product is right for you.

New Zealand Travel Insurance New Zealand Travel Insurance

New Zealand is a popular destination for adrenaline-filled activities and winter sports. If you’re heading over there, check out the insurance options available.

Our policies cover 90 activities and sports automatically, including bungee jumping (three jumps max). Be aware, that there are specific activities that are excluded, and limits apply. Always read the PDS before buying a travel insurance policy to make sure the product is right for you.

Something to consider, if you’re travelling to New Zealand, is the possibility of an earthquake or natural disaster. We offer an add-on that you can take up on the summary page of the quote process if you feel the area you’re going to is prone to such problems.

Travel Insurance to USA

Submitted by webellian on Thu, 11/09/2023 - 08:44
Travel Insurance for America Travel Insurance for America

A holiday to the United States offers 50 states to explore with varying culture, cuisines, history, and landscapes. Experience the untamed wilderness of Alaska, the tropical paradise of the Hawaiian Islands, or the glitz and glamour of cities like New York and Los Angeles.

There is no shortage of destinations within America, all of which offer incredible holidays. There are, however, several things to be aware of when travelling in America, such as natural disasters, driving on the opposite side of the road, and expensive medical treatments which will not be covered by Australian Medicare. You may wish to try your luck in Las Vegas, but don’t leave your travel chance by not protecting yourself with USA travel insurance.

Most Common Questions
Do I need travel insurance to visit the USA?

No, but depending on your visa type, you should always check before planning your travel to the USA that the country has no specific travel insurance requirements. While we cannot advise on whether or not you should purchase travel insurance to travel to the USA, taking out travel insurance is highly recommended by the Australian government and smartraveller.gov.au.

How much does travel insurance to the USA cost?

It depends upon various factors such as your age, how many people are travelling, for how long, if any travellers have pre-existing conditions, etc., so we can’t really estimate the cost of travel insurance to the USA without knowing those things. You can fill in your trip details online, and at the next step, you will be shown the cost of travel insurance with three different levels cover. Please note that this policy price will increase if you opt for various other add-ons such as golf, business, natural disaster, etc.

What is the Car Rental Excess Waiver?

We offer a rental vehicle excess waiver of up to $4,000 on Silver and up to $8,000 on Gold for International policies; & up to $5,000 in Domestic policies, provided you hire the car for 36 days or less for International Policies and 22 days for Domestic policies. This means that you will be covered for up to $8,000 for International policies & up to $5,000 in Domestic policies if you have to forfeit excess with the hire car company. The rental car must have no more than 9 seats and not be driven off-road.

We will reimburse the Rental Car insurance excess charged to you through the rental car company if a car you have rented during your trip is involved in a motor vehicle accident while you are driving, or is damaged or stolen while in your custody.

This cover does not take the place of rental vehicle insurance or third-party damage insurance and only provides cover for the excess component up to the applicable benefit limit.

Can you travel to the USA while pregnant?

Yes, you can travel to the USA while pregnant. Insure&Go only provide cover for medical costs associated with a complication of pregnancy. Costs related to childbirth are covered up until your 30th week for a single-child pregnancy, and up until your 20th week for a multiple-child pregnancy.

If you are suffering from a complication of pregnancy and therefore a doctor advises you that you are not fit to travel, then claims for cancellation will also be considered. For further information, and a full list of what is considered a complication of pregnancy, please go through the Policy Wording Documents.”

Do you cover cancellations due to relatives health condition?

In our Silver and Gold policies, we cover you for trip cancellation due to the unforeseen death, illness or injury of your close family relative(s). Please note that this cover is limited to close family relatives only, who live in Australia and are in Australia at the time of the incident. Furthermore, this benefit excludes any claims relating directly or indirectly to a relative's pre-existing medical condition.

Who do I contact in the event of an emergency?

For 24/7 emergency assistance, please contact us at +612 9333 3999 (reverse charge) from anywhere in the world. Alternatively, you can email us at assistance@insureandgo.com.au.

Insure&Go is part of the Europ Assistance Group, which has a global presence in more than 200 countries. With a network of over 750,000 assistance providers, Europ Assistance averages 10 million assistance interventions every year. In 2019 alone, Europ Assistance helped 1.2 million travellers worldwide.

Do you cover water sports?

Our policies, do cover a range of water sport activities, including but not limited to: white or black water rafting, scuba diving and snorkelling. A full list of the covered water sports can be found in our Product Disclosure Statement under the 'Table of covered sports & activities' section, outlining what you can be covered for and what requirements you must satisfy to be covered.

Am I covered if I need to change my flight?

Depending on the reasons, your level of cover and the options selected, we cover cancellation/rescheduling of flights for unforeseen/unexpected medical reasons, death of a relative, natural disaster, serious damage to your home in Australia, passport if lost/stolen and so on. Please read the PDS for more info (for cancellation, Section A, and if the said expense is incurred after going on the trip, it will fall under Additional Emergency Expenses - Section C2)

Which destination option to select for “Hawaii”?

As Hawaii is a state of the United States, you will need to select your destination as “Worldwide including North, Central and South America”. This will cover you for travel to, from and throughout Hawaii.

American cruise coverage

If your trip includes any travel by cruise ship, then select cruise travel insurance plans to be covered for the land, air, and cruise part of your journey. By cruise, we refer to any travel on sea, ocean, or river by any commercially operated ship, boat, or other sea vessel for longer than two hours.

You will need to select the appropriate geographical travel plan designated for your travel destination, which incorporates all the countries you are travelling to. For cruises taking part in America, you would select the geographical travel plan labelled ‘Worldwide including North and South America and Antarctica’.

Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance for America

With fifty states in the U.S. to explore, one visit to America may not be enough. If you plan on more than one trip within the year, or are planning on another international getaway, you may wish to look into an InsureandGo Annual Multi-Trip Insurance policy for your American holiday insurance. Just 2 or 3 times of travel a year may be enough to consider this type of policy.

An annual policy may cost you only slightly more than a single-trip policy, depending on your selected destination.

Natural Disaster Coverage for America

America is prone to several types of natural disasters, with the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events projected to grow. Natural disasters that can occur in America include powerful hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, forest fires, landslides, and earthquakes. InsureandGo offers an option to take out Travel Insurance for Natural Disasters to protect you in the event an unforeseen disaster should occur.

To make a claim due to a natural disaster, you must have purchased this policy upgrade option and the option must be shown on your policy. Please note that there is no coverage for costs incurred as a result of a natural disaster event that is known prior to purchasing or upgrading the policy. If there is a known natural disaster event, it will be mentioned prior to payment on our website and over the phone by our agents.

Note that medical cover due to any natural disaster is automatically included in all international policies without purchasing the Natural Disasters add-on. Read the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) before purchasing the policy.

Choose our Silver or Gold level of cover and you will be protected for cancelling your trip before departure or cutting your trip short. All levels of coverage will include coverage for additional emergency expenses. These are expenses you incur after departure that are over and above what you had originally budgeted to pay, if your trip is disrupted, or you are required to return to your home in Australia because of a natural disaster. These expenses can include things such as accommodation, meals, or travelling costs.

Winter Sports Coverage for America

America is a popular destination for winter sports, with numerous notable ski resorts such as Lake Tahoe, Aspen, Breckenridge, and Vail.

Winter in America starts on December 21st and goes until March 20. Many ski resorts open as early as late October, and start measuring snowfall from November 1. The best destinations to visit in America for winter sports include Glacier National Park in Montana, the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, and resorts throughout Utah. Classic winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, and snowmobiling are popular in these regions, though those who head further north to destinations like Alaska might also partake in activities like dog sledding and ice fishing.

InsureandGo offers the option of adding Winter sports insurance with competitive pricing. Selecting this policy upgrade option will provide coverage for fourteen types of winter sports activities, including things like ski gear and ski passes.

Benefits of winter sports coverage:

  • language barriers;
  • literacy barriers;
