Annual trip Most Common Questions
I am overseas right now – is it possible for me to buy, change or upgrade a policy?

Unfortunately, you must physically be in Australia at the time of purchasing your insurance. If you are already abroad overseas, we’re sorry to say we can’t provide you with a new or different type of insurance. However, you might be eligible to extend the dates of your current, existing cover, so do get in touch if this is the case.

Can I take this policy out if I’m going on a cruise?

If you are going on a cruise at any point in your journey you need to select a cruise policy.

What if I have stop-overs in countries other than what my policy covers me for?

You need to make sure that your policy includes all of the destinations in your travel itinerary. You can do this by checking our destination bracket under the Get a Quote section of our website.

I’m taking out the top cover, am I covered for anything that can go wrong on my trip?

Our premiums would be astronomical if we did that! There are limits and exclusions to all travel insurance policies, so we strongly advise you to read our product disclosure statement to see if our product is right for you.

Can I upgrade my policy if it’s out of the cooling off period?

Yes, you can upgrade your policy at any time prior to departure provided that there are no claims or pending claims.

Am I able to travel to more than one country on this insurance?

Yes, you are able to travel to the list of destinations that are within your selected destination bracket.

Do you provide cover for delayed flights after the departure?

Our Silver and Gold policies provide coverage for reimbursing the cost of your necessary accommodation and additional meal expenses, if during your holiday, any one leg of your journey is delayed by more than 12 hours.

The potential claim amount, however, will depend on the policy your purchased, as this dictates the coverage. You will be able to see the exact level over coverage by reading the policy wording document and PDS.

Covid-19 Travel Insurance Benefits

Are you looking for travel insurance with coverage for Covid-19 related events? InsureandGo policies provide you with several travel insurance benefits related to Covid-19. We are all excited to travel again and we want to give travellers peace of mind on their next holiday, domestically or overseas. We understand the travel landscape has changed and our travel insurance policies need to account for the new risks that travellers can face. Our Covid-19 travel insurance will give you additional coverage whenever you are ready to explore the world again.

Always visit Smartraveller to understand if your destination is marked as safe to travel. If your destination is marked as a “do not travel” on Smartraveller website, travel insurance coverage is not available. The below content is a summary only, always check the PDS for full details and Target Market Determination to understand if our policies are right for you.
