What is an excess?

If an excess applies to a claim it means that you need to pay the stated amount towards the claim per person, per event and per applicable section. For example, if you have a covered claim for $500 and an excess of $100 applies to the cover you are claiming under, you will only receive $400 in settlement of the claim. Excesses only apply to certain sections of the InsureandGo Travel Insurance policies, as set out in the relevant Policy Wording’s Table of Benefits. Our standard excess amount is $100 but you can choose to remove or double this amount through the purchase process.

What is a Gold Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance policy?

Our Gold Annual Multi-Trip (AMT) policy^ provide coverage for unlimited travel throughout the year within your selected destination and duration brackets.

You can choose from three duration brackets for the maximum length of any one trip:

  • 30 days per trip
  • 45 days per trip
  • 60 days per trip

Important notes:

  • Domestic travel: This policy does not cover domestic trips within Australia. For domestic coverage, please purchase a separate Domestic Travel Insurance Policy.
  • Cruise coverage: While Gold AMT covers medical and hospital expenses during cruises, it does not include cruise-specific benefits such as cabin confinement, missed cruises, baggage delays before boarding, or personal baggage losses before boarding. For these benefits, consider our dedicated Cruise Travel Insurance.

When purchasing an AMT policy, you need to select the destination and duration bracket that covers all the trips you plan to take over the entire year. You also need to add any upgrades as a one-off purchase when you buy this cover, such as Winter Sports, Business or Natural Disaster cover.
