1. Royal County Down – Northern Ireland

Located in Newcastle’s Murlough Natural Reserve, this golf course is located along the Irish Sea. It offers spectacular views, with the shadow of the Slieve Donard Mountain perfectly casting over the town. Interestingly, Royal County Down’s ninth hole is one of the most photographed holes in the world, so be sure to bring your camera along!

2. Murfield – Scotland

Scotland’s Murfield golf course has fostered the privilege of hosting the Open Championships 15 times! You can enjoy this golf course with its tight fairways, challenging your accuracy off the tee. It is Murfield that also boasts the world’s oldest golf club, The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers.

3. Leopard Creek – South Africa

Regarded as the number one golf course in South Africa, Leopard’s Creek will astound you! Here you have the chance to play on a golf course overlooking South Africa’s admired Kruger National Park Game Reserve (and if you’re lucky, you 05/even spot a few wild animals in the distance).  Built in 1996, this destination is exclusive to members on the weekends; however non-members can enjoy the privilege of playing on this world class course during the mid-week.

4. Mission Hills – China

With a sum of 12 courses and a total of 216 holes, you’ll fall in love with this golf destination instantly. In fact, Mission Hills earned a place in the Guinness Book of Records in 2005 for boasting 216 holes within a single destination. It is located in Southern China, in Shenzhen, which is only less than an hour from Hong Kong.

5. Pebble Beach – USA

You 05/recognise California’s Pebble Beach from one of the renowned shots of the course lining the Pacific coastline. This is a public golf course designed by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant, with an 18 hole regulation length.  Pebble Beach is where prominent tournaments have been hosted, including the 2010 US Open.  And if you’re after a few golfing tips, why not take up a lesson at the Pebble Beach Golf Academy!

6. Royal Melbourne – Australia

Royal Melbourne’s golf course has been the host of a number of national and international golf championships. To add to the list, the 2014 Asia-Pacific Amateur Championships will be held here. InsureandGo recommend you play the West course, which boasts 18 holes. However this course is not suitable for beginners, so be sure your golfing skill is at an adequate level.

7. St Andrews – Scotland

Recognised as the world’s first golf destination, St Andrews Links are a must to explore. There are six golf courses including the Old Course, New Course, Eden, Jubilee, Strathtyrum and Balgove. Balgove’s 9 holes are recommended for beginners and children.

8. The Ocean Course – USA

The Ocean Course is one you will  love playing. Built in 1991, it is located on the Kiawah Island, South Carolina. This golf course boasts 18 magnificent holes and was designed by the renowned Pete-Dye. One of the fascinating features of The Ocean Course is that it has more holes than any other golf courses in the Northern Hemisphere. So what are you waiting for!

9. Green Monkey – Barbados

The Caribbean’s golf glory can be discovered in Barbados. The Green Monkey boasts 72 pars and is suitable for golfers at all levels.  Designed by Tom Fazio, the golf course opened in 1961. Overall, you will love abd be challenged the elevation changes on the fairways  which are complimented with spectacular views of the sea!

10. Cape Kidnappers – New Zealand

You can thank Tom Doak’s design for the beauty enriched within this golf course. Cape Kidnappers par 71 is very challenging even to the very low handicappers. Even on a bad golfing day, you will be able to enjoy the scenery of the 6510 metres of beautiful fairway. But be aware of the infamous windy conditions!
