Seniors Card logo Most Common Questions
1. I am currently 64; do I still count as a Senior?

We offer discounts for all people who are members of Seniors. If you are 64 and hold a senior membership card, you may be entitled to a discount with us.

3. Do you cover pre-existing medical conditions?

A pre-existing medical condition is any condition for which you have received medical advice, treatment or medication in the last five years. Our policies cover many pre-existing conditions; to see if we cover yours, please complete our medical assessment online or over the phone. Please note, failing to declare a pre-existing condition can void your policy.

5. Does your insurance cover damage to a rental car?

Our Silver and Gold policies cover your rental car excess for up to $4,000 and $8,000, respectively ($7,500 for Domestic Gold level), but not for motorbikes. For a rental car to be covered, you need to make sure that it is insured (confirmed by the rental company), as we do not pay for full damages to a rental car, only your excess.

2. Is there a Senior’s travel insurance policy I need to purchase?

No. Simply select the trip type that best describes your journey.

4. Do you cover travel delays?

We will reimburse the cost of your necessary additional meals and accommodation expenses up to the amount in your policy, if any individual leg of your trip is delayed for more than 12 hours, as long as you eventually go on the holiday. Sub-limits per 12 hours apply.

6. I’m taking out the top cover, am I covered for anything that can go wrong on my trip?

Our premiums would be astronomical if we could do that! There are limits and exclusions to all travel insurance policies, so we strongly advise you to read our product disclosure statement to check limits and exclusions) to see if our product is right for you.

Have you just booked the getaway of your dreams? Whether you’re about to indulge in the best of what Australia has to offer, or you’re going to jet-set to New Zealand, don’t forget to organise travel insurance.

At award-winning InsureandGo travel insurance, we offer domestic, international, and tailored cruise coverage and optional add-ons such as Wintersports cover.

Get a quote in minutes and don’t forget to quote your unique promo code: “Retreats” to save 10% off your policy or 15% off your domestic policy.

Most Common Questions
1. What is the business cover add-on all about?

This option provides much more than just cover for lost, stolen or damaged business equipment or money.

For example, what would you do if during your trip you were unfortunately hospitalised due to an accident or illness, thereby preventing you from going to an important pre-planned business meeting? Take out this option and we will pay necessary and reasonable travel and accommodation expenses for a replacement business associate to travel from Australia and attend the meeting on your behalf

3. Do you cover pre-existing medical conditions?

A pre-existing medical condition is any condition for which you have received medical advice, treatment or medication in the last five years. Our policies cover many pre-existing conditions; to see if we cover yours, please complete our medical assessment online or over the phone. Please note, that failing to declare a pre-existing condition can void your policy.

5. Does your insurance cover damage to a rental car?

Our Silver and Gold policies cover your rental car excess up to $4000. However, you need to make sure that the rental car is insured (confirmed by the rental company), as we do not pay for full damages to a rental car, only your excess. Please note, that motorbikes are excluded.

7. I’m taking out the top cover, am I covered for anything that can go wrong on my trip?

Our premiums would be astronomical if we could do that! There are limits and exclusions to all travel insurance policies, so we strongly advise you to read our product disclosure statement (or search [ctrl+F] for keywords to check limits and exclusions) to see if our product is right for you.

2. Do you provide cover for iPads?

Under our Silver and Gold policies, we cover iPads as an electronic device up to $2,000 for Silver and $3,000 for Gold.

4. I have an elderly parent, am I covered if I have to cancel or cut my trip short due to something happening to my parents?

With our Silver and Gold policies, we do offer cover for cancelling your trip prior to departure due to the unforeseen accident, illness or injury of one of your parents. Your parents must live in Australia and be in Australia at the time, and this cover does not include any cover for pre-existing medical conditions.

6. Do you cover travel delays and connecting flights?

Our policies only cover your flight departing and arriving to Australia directly. If your flight is delayed, and you book an alternative flight, we do not cover the cost of your new flight. We do, however, offer some compensation if your fight has been delayed for more than 12 hours in some circumstances. Unfortunately, we do not cover connecting flights.

Your parents must live in Australia and be in Australia at the time, and this cover does not include any cover for pre-existing medical conditions.

3. Do you cover travel delays?

We will reimburse the cost of your necessary additional meals and accommodation expenses up to the amount in your policy, if any individual leg of your trip is delayed for more than 12 hours, as long as you eventually go on the holiday. Sub-limits per 12 hours apply.

2. Does your insurance cover damage to a rental car?

Our Silver and Gold policies cover your rental car excess for up to $4,000 and $8,000 respectively, but not for motorbikes. For a rental car to be covered, you need to make sure that it is insured (confirmed by the rental company), as we do not pay for full damages to a rental car, only your excess.

4. I’m taking out the top cover, am I covered for anything that can go wrong on my trip?

Our premiums would be astronomical if we could do that! There are limits and exclusions to all travel insurance policies, so we strongly advise you to read our product disclosure statement.
