Most Common Questions

Are my children covered under InsureandGo Australia’s family policy?

Dependent children or grandchildren under 18 can be included on a family policy at no extra cost, provided they are financially dependent and named on the policy. A family policy covers two adults in a partner relationship and their dependent children or grandchildren. No cover is available for children who are born overseas during your trip.

You may cover an unlimited number of dependent children on your travel insurance policy at no additional premium cost, if you have selected the Single or Family Cover Policy Type. The Couple Cover Policy Type does not provide any cover for dependent children.

Do I need to get travel insurance for my adult children?

Only dependent children aged 17 or below are eligible for free cover. If your children are 18 or older, they’ll need to be covered as adults and included on the policy separately, whether or not you’re travelling as a family.

All dependent children will need to be listed on your policy as an insured person, whether they are under or over the age of 18.

Who qualifies as a couple or partner on an InsureandGo Australia policy?

A couple policy covers two adults in a partner relationship. A partner is someone over 18 who lives with you at the time of purchase and is your spouse, fiancé or de facto partner, and is named on the policy.

What is the maximum duration covered under the family policy?

The maximum trip duration depends on your age and travel destination. For full details on trip duration limits that apply to your family under your InsureandGo Australia policy, please refer to the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).

Who qualifies as a couple or partner on an InsureandGo Australia policy?

Pre-existing medical conditions are not automatically covered. However, you can apply for cover for pre-existing conditions, and if accepted, and the applicable premium is paid, you may be covered for claims arising from that condition.

Cover is not available for conditions you're experiencing symptoms of but haven't yet been diagnosed, travel against medical advice, or terminal conditions expected to result in death before your trip ends. For full terms and exclusions, please refer to the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).

Does the policy cover domestic and international travel?

Yes, InsureandGo Australia’s family travel insurance offers comprehensive coverage for both domestic travel, international trips, and cruises. When you get a quote, simply select the trip type that matches your travel plans.

Can I save money with a family travel insurance policy?

Yes. Purchasing a couple or family policy can be more cost-effective than buying individual policies. A 10% discount is automatically applied when you select a couple or family policy, and dependent children under 18 can be included at no extra cost, provided they are named on the policy.

How do I make a claim if something goes wrong during our trip?

It’s easy to make a claim online with InsureandGo Australia.

  1. Log in to our eClaims portal to start your claim.
  2. Upload your supporting documents, such as receipts for emergency expenses, police reports for stolen items, airline correspondence for delays or lost baggage.

Alternatively, you can download a claims form and email it along with your supporting documents to claims@insureandgo.com.au

If you need any help, our team is here to guide you through the process.

1 Children (including fostered or adopted children) travelling with either their parents or grandparents will be provided with travel insurance cover for no additional cost (any pre-existing medical conditions may incur an additional charge). This is provided they are under 18 years of age, named on the Policy Schedule and are financially dependent on either their parents or grandparents. No cover is available for children who are born overseas during your trip.

2 When two or more adults are travelling together as part of either a couple or a family group, then each adult will benefit from a 10% discount on the standard individual premium for the selected level of cover for that particular trip before calculating the overall premium for the group. The 10% discount does not apply to individuals travelling with their non-adult children, who will, however, be covered at no additional cost.
