My name is Victoria and I’m a law student in my home country Sweden. I’ve always loved to travel and experience new cultures in different parts of the world. Before I started my law studies I travelled around the world and spent two months in Australia. I immediately fell in love with the beautiful nature, relaxed atmosphere and friendly people. I realized that Australia was similar to Sweden with one big difference, the weather. When leaving Oz I promised myself I’d return at least one more time and that’s why I decided to study one semester at Sydney Uni. It was not difficult to convince my boyfriend to come with me, even though he had never been to Australia before. Leaving -15 degrees in Stockholm for +27 in Sydney made even the first days a success. Sydney has something to offer for everyone and the multicultural character makes it possible to enjoy all parts of the world at the same time. It´s no coincidence that Sydney has been voted one of the world’s best cities to live. The main purpose of my study abroad was to improve my English and hopefully become fluent in a second language. I was therefore excited when I got the chance to do an internship at InsureandGo, which complemented my studies in an amazing way. I´ve appreciated their openness towards interns with different backgrounds and I believe that they´ve considered our differences valuable in giving input on travelling and traveller’s needs. An internship is a great opportunity for students to improve their skills in a specific area of expertise as well as a chance to practice their academic knowledge. I’ve been given valuable experiences for the future and hopefully even a chance to continue working for The Mapfre Group in some other part of the world. I would not be surprised if I return to Oz some day since it feels like my second home. To be continued….
