Most Common Questions
1. I am currently 64; do I still count as a Senior?
We offer discounts for all people who are members of Seniors. If you are 64 and hold a senior membership card, you may be entitled to a discount with us.
3. Do you cover pre-existing medical conditions?
A pre-existing medical condition is any condition for which you have received medical advice, treatment or medication in the last five years. Our policies cover many pre-existing conditions; to see if we cover yours, please complete our medical assessment online or over the phone. Please note, failing to declare a pre-existing condition can void your policy.
5. Does your insurance cover damage to a rental car?
Our Silver and Gold policies cover your rental car excess up to $4000. However, you need to make sure that the rental car is insured (confirmed by the rental company), as we do not pay for full damages to a rental car, only your excess. Please note, motorbikes are excluded.
7. I’m taking out the top cover, am I covered for anything that can go wrong on my trip?
Our premiums would be astronomical if we could do that! There are limits and exclusions to all travel insurance policies, so we strongly advise you to read our product disclosure statement (or search [ctrl+F] for key words to check limits and exclusions) to see if our product is right for you.
2. Is there a Senior’s travel insruance policy I need to purchase?
No. Simply select the trip type that best describes your journey.
4. I have an elderly parent, am I covered if I have to cancel or cut my trip short due to something happening to my parents?
With our Silver and Gold policies, we do offer cover for cancelling your trip prior to departure due to the unforeseen accident, illness or injury of one of your parents. Your parents must live in Australia and be in Australia at the time, and this cover does not include any cover for pre-existing medical conditions.
6. Do you cover travel delays and connecting flights?
Our policies only cover your flight departing and arriving to Australia directly. If your flight is delayed, and you book an alternative flight, we do not cover the cost of your new flight. We do, however, offer some compensation if your fight has been delayed for more than 12 hours in some circumstances. Unfortunately, we do not cover connecting flights.
*Price derived from a single trip of 5 days, individual, age 60, to New Zealand, Pacific & Bali region after the discount has been applied. Cover for pre-existing medical may require an extra premium.
