Most Common Questions

1. Do you cover pre-existing medical conditions?

A pre-existing medical condition is any condition for which you have received medical advice, treatment or medication in the last five years. Our policies cover many pre-existing conditions; to see if we cover yours, please complete our medical assessment online or over the phone. Please note, failing to declare a pre-existing condition can void your policy.

3. Does your insurance cover damage to a rental car?

Our Silver and Gold policies cover your rental car excess up to $4000. However, you need to make sure that the rental car is insured (confirmed by the rental company), as we do not pay for full damages to a rental car, only your excess. Please note, motorbikes are excluded.

5. The activity I am doing has no personal accident/personal liability cover. What does this mean?

For activities that are in the table of covered sports and activities that do not have personal accident or personal liability cover, you will only be covered for medical expenses related to an accident or injury as a result of this activity. However, you will not be covered if this accident or injury results in the following complications, within 12 consecutive months of returning home.

7. How do I make a claim?

You have 30 days from the end of your trip to submit a claim form and we will endeavor to give you a response within 10 business days. You can either lodge a claim online or download a claims form from the website and post it to us with all your supporting documents (e.g. receipts, police reports). Please contact us if you have any questions regarding the claims process.

2. I have an elderly parent, am I covered if I have to cancel or cut my trip short due to something happening to my parents?

With our Silver and Gold policies, we do offer cover for cancelling your trip prior to departure due to the unforeseen accident, illness or injury of one of your parents. Your parents must live in Australia and be in Australia at the time, and this cover does not include any cover for pre-existing medical conditions.

4. I’m taking out the top cover, am I covered for anything that can go wrong on my trip?

Our premiums would be astronomical if we could do that! There are limits and exclusions to all travel insurance policies, so we strongly advise you to read our product disclosure statement (or search [ctrl+F] for key words to check limits and exclusions) to see if our product is right for you.

6. What activities are covered with your winter sports travel insurance?

Our Winter Sports upgrade will cover any sudden accidents or injuries you may sustain whilst partaking in any of the activities listed in our Winter Sports add-on.

8. Do you cover electronic devices?

Cover for electronic devices are available in our Silver and Gold levels of cover. Our Silver level of coverage is up to $2000.00 and our Gold level of coverage is $3,000.00 electronic devices. Please refer to the policy wording documents for information on the electronic sub-limit cover.
