Most Common Questions

1. What is the maximum age you can insure up to?

We cover up to 79 or 100 years of age, subject to policy type and cover level selected.

3. Do you cover pre-existing medical conditions?

We consider all pre-existing medical conditions for possible cover, subject to agreement, in all of our travel insurance products, except for our Domestic Travel Insurance. To determine whether your condition will be covered, you will need to complete the Medical Assessment during the purchase process online or over the phone.

5. If cover is refused for my pre-existing medical condition, am I still covered for my trip?

If, subject to our medical questionnaire, we are unable to cover your pre-existing medical conditions, we will only exclude any claims directly/indirectly relating to those conditions. Please keep in mind that you are still insured medically for a new condition that may unexpectedly arise overseas as well as accidental injuries and illnesses.

7. I’m taking out the top cover, am I covered for anything that can go wrong on my trip?

Our premiums would be astronomical if we could do that! There are limits and exclusions to all travel insurance policies, so we strongly advise you to read our product disclosure statement (or search [ctrl+F] for key words to check limits and exclusions) to see if our product is right for you.

2. Is there a Senior’s travel insruance policy I need to purchase?

No. Simply select the trip type that best describes your journey.

4. I’m taking out the top cover, am I covered for anything that can go wrong on my trip?

With our Silver and Gold policies, we do offer cover for cancelling your trip prior to departure due to the unforeseen accident, illness or injury of one of your parents. Your parents must live in Australia and be in Australia at the time, and this cover does not include any cover for pre-existing medical conditions.

6. Do you cover flight delays after departure?

Under the InsureandGo Silver and Gold levels of cover, we will reimburse the cost of your necessary additional meals and accommodation expenses, if during a trip, any individual leg of your trip, is delayed for more than 12 hours, as long as you eventually go on the holiday.

The amount you can claim varies depending on the level of cover that you have purchased with us. Please refer to the policy wording documents for more information.
