Most Common Questions

1. I have an elderly parent, am I covered if I have to cancel or cut my trip short due to something happening to my parents?

With our Domestic policies, we do offer cover for cancelling your trip prior to departure due to the unforeseen accident, illness or injury of one of your parents. Your parents must live in Australia and be in Australia at the time, and this cover does not include any cover for pre-existing medical conditions.

3. Do you cover travel delays?

We will reimburse the cost of your necessary additional meals and accommodation expenses up to the amount in your policy, if any individual leg of your trip is delayed for more than 12 hours, as long as you eventually go on the holiday. Sub-limits per 12 hours apply.

2. Does your insurance cover damage to a rental car?

Our Silver and Gold domestic policies cover your rental car excess up to $7,500. However, you need to make sure that the rental car is insured (confirmed by the rental company), as we do not pay for full damages to a rental car, only your excess. Please note, motorbikes are excluded.

4. I’m taking out the top cover, am I covered for anything that can go wrong on my trip?

Our premiums would be astronomical if we could do that! There are limits and exclusions to all travel insurance policies, so we strongly advise you to read our product disclosure statement (or search [ctrl+F] for key words to check limits and exclusions) to see if our product is right for you.
