Where to Go Skiing in Canada?

Whether you decide to head to the skiing regions of the east or the west, Canada is home to some of the most incredible skiing destinations in the world.

British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec are considered the top three snow and skiing states and it’s in these provinces that you’ll find the most famous skiing and snow sporting hotspots:

  • As the cream of the crop,British Columbia has more ski resorts than any other Canadian state. Whistler/Blackcomb is often labelled as the most sought-after skiing destination in the whole of North America (it’s where the 2010 Winter Olympics were held). Other leading ski resorts include Sun Peaks, Big White, Revelstoke, Kicking Horse, White Water, Silver Star, Red Mountain, Fernie Alpine and Grouse Mountain.

  • In the western state of Alberta (next to British Columbia), the Banff National Park in the breathtaking Rocky Mountains is definitely a first choice for many seasoned skiers, with 8,000 acres of skiing glory to enjoy. The three main resorts here are Lake Louise, Sunshine Village and Mt Norquay. Tri-area lift passes are available and allow you to ski almost any slope you like, regardless of where you are staying.

  • If you choose to head to towards the east, Quebec will be your ultimate skiing and snow playground. Although the mountains and slopes aren’t as big here as in use full name and Alberta, skiing in Quebec is a fantastic choice if you’re more of a novice skier or if you want to be close to cities like Quebec City, Montreal and Toronto. US destinations like New York and Boston are also just an arm’s reach away. Mont Tremblant is one of the most popular ski resorts in Quebec, and others, like Stoneham Mountain, Mont Sainte Anne and Le Massif in the rockies, are well worth looking into as well.

We love giving you some quick tips to help you enjoy your holiday, but remember that none of these have been tried and tested by InsureandGo. So make sure to research and find the ski slope that is right for you and your personal holiday plans!
