Sydney Airport upgrade completed
The newly expanded and upgraded departures level of Sydney Airport’s international terminal is now open, Aviation Business has reported.
Improvements made to the departures level include a 7300 square metre floor space expansion, a new security screening area and a new landside food court.
Russell Balding, CEO of Sydney Airport, commented, “Our aim is to provide travellers with an enhanced travel experience. It is a strategically important investment that will leave visitors with a positive and lasting impression of Sydney.”
10.6 million international passengers passed through Sydney Airport in 2009, and numbers are expected to reach 20 million by 2020 and 30 million by 2029.
