Japanese cuisine popular with Aussies
The vast majority of Australians that holiday in Japan do so for the food, TravelMole has reported.
According to the Japan National Tourism Organisation’s annual survey of international visitors, Japanese cuisine was cited by 72 per cent of Australian respondents as the main reason for their trip.
Shopping was the second most popular reason Australian travellers gave for holidaying in Japan, followed by visiting historic landmarks and experiencing busy downtown areas.
Japanese cuisine also proved popular with the other international tourists surveyed, named by 58.5 per cent of all respondents as their reason for visiting the country.
