Australians not taking enough holidays
Many Australians are failing to take advantage of their full holiday entitlement, Sify News has reported.
According to research from online travel company Expedia, Australian workers take an average of 16.5 days annual leave, making them the third most holiday deprived nation in the developed world.
French workers were found to be the most eager to take time off, with 34.5 days of annual leave taken on average, while the Japanese were the most hard-working, missing just nine days of work per year.
The survey, which questioned people from thirteen different countries, including over 1000 Australians, also found that respondents aged between 18 and 34 were twice as likely not to use their full annual leave entitlement for fear of missing an important decision at work.
